Projeto Caracol Africano Project African Snail: Para quem se preocupa com ETIQUETA à mesa: Como comer o caracol?

Sou Mauricio Carneiro Aquino, Médico Veterinário, brasileiro.

Na década de 80 do século passado fui um dos fundadores da AHRJ – Associação de Helicicultores do Rio de Janeiro, a primeira associação de criadores de caracóis do Brasil.

Estou me dedicando, hoje, ao Mestrado de Ciências da Saúde da Universidade Federal de Alagoas - UFAL, em Maceió, Alagoas, Brasil e minha tese é sobre o Achatina fulica no Brasil, com o objetivo de avaliar o seu potencial zooterápico e recomendar formas eficientes de aproveitamento dessa espécie invasora.

Como o conhecimento é dinâmico, espero poder contar com o apoio de todos nessa pesquisa. Toda e qualquer informação será muito bem recebida.

I'm Carneiro Mauricio Aquino, brazilian veterinarian.
In the 80s of last century was one of the founders of AHRJ - Helicicultores Association of Rio de Janeiro, the first association of breeders of snails from Brazil.
I'm dedicating today to the Master of Health and Environment at the University Federal of Alagoas - UFAL, Maceió, Alagoas, Brazil, and my thesis is on Achatina fulica in Brazil, to evaluate their potential zootherapy and effective ways to control this invasive species.
Because knowledge is dynamic, I can count on the support of all this research. Any information will be very well received.

Minha Orientadora: Dra Marilia Oliveira Fonseca Goulart

Possui graduação em Farmácia pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1975) e doutorado em Química pela Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1983), com pós-doutorados na Inglaterra (Queen Mary College) e Alemanha (Instituto de Química Orgânica (Münster). Foi ganhadora (1. lugar, categoria graduados) do Prêmio Jovem Cientista de 1984 (Produtos Naturais), recebeu a medalha Sempre UFMG - ex aluna destaque, no ano de 2003, em 2010 a Comenda do Mérito FAPEAL e em 2011, o Prêmio Marie Curie, concedido pela Sociedade Brasileira de Química. Atualmente é professora associada III da Universidade Federal de Alagoas, orienta mestrado e doutorado no PPGQB/UFAL, no ICBS/UFAL e no RENORBIO e pós-doutorado, com apoio do CNPq e CAPES. Foi professora visitante da École Normale Superieure, em Paris, por um mês. Tem experiência na área de Química e Biotecnologia, com ênfase em Eletroquímica Orgânica, Bioeletroquímica e Química Orgânica. Pertence ao corpo edtorial do J. Braz. Chem. Soc. e J. Electroanal.Chem. É atualmente, 1a. tesoureira da Sociedade Brasileira de Química e "chair" da divisão 6 (Eletroquímica Molecular) da International Society of Electrochemistry.

Graduated in Pharmacy from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (1975) and Ph.D. in Chemistry from the Universidade Federal de Minas Gerais (1983), post-doctorates in England (Queen Mary College) and Germany (Institute of Organic Chemistry (Münster). It was winner (1. place, senior category) Young Scientist Award for 1984 (Natural Products), received the medal Always UFMG - former prominent student, in 2003, in 2010 FAPEAL the Commendation of Merit and in 2011, the Marie Curie Award granted by the Brazilian Society of Chemistry. He is currently associate professor III Federal University of Alagoas, directs the master's and doctoral PPGQB / UFAL in ICBS / UFAL and RENORBIO and post-doctorate, with the support of CNPq and CAPES. He was a visiting professor the Ecole Normale Superieure in Paris for a month. He has experience in Chemistry and Biotechnology, with emphasis on Organic Electrochemistry, Bioelectrochemistry and Organic Chemistry. edtorial body belongs to J. Braz. Chem. Soc and J. Electroanal. Chem. It is now first. treasurer of the Brazilian Society of Chemistry and "chair" of division 6 (Molecular Electrochemistry) of the International Society of Electrochemistry.
